I got a Surface RT. It is one sleek little animal.

LOL! What the $&%# is a Surface RT? (You've got to realize that this is coming from a person who has never even touched a smartphone and got his first mobile anything just one year ago, an iPad).

I pre-ordered the Surface RT back in October. I've been using it regularly since it arrived. And, since I am insane, I also picked up a Surface Pro 128 last week. It has become my primary device that I take with me to the office so that I can read email, keep up with news and handle forums in between the insanity that is work these days. These are truly gorgeous devices. -steve

LOL I am thinking of getting a Pro one in the future - perhaps when I have to replace my main PC. Right now, I prefer Windows RT to Win 8 Pro. I'll just have to see if it gets done everything I need it to get done.

I think that most people can use Windows RT with no issues. The one major issue for my use is that you are unable to install software to the desktop environment. Until the metro style apps catch up, there are just some things I need the desktop of Pro for. We're getting there, though. There have been some really good apps released to the Store. -steve

Steve, I'm finding the charging cable difficult. I thought I had it plugged in all night, but it did not charge. I see now, this morning, that when it is charging, there is a light that comes on on the cable. I had to fuss and fuss with it this morning, to get that cable in place. Is this common?

Yes. Watch for the light or check the icon on the lock screen -- when plugged in, the battery icon has a power cable next to it.
Sleep also tends to drain the battery over a period of 2 to 3 days, by the way, so power off completely when you're not going to use it.

Our onsite microsoft account manager has one. It looks very nice, but i've yet to have a play about with it.
Will be interested to see say a week or two down the line how you've been getting on with it

I am very pleased with both the RT and Pro versions of the Surface. They do what I need. -steve

I'm getting along much better with the charging cable now that I've got the hang of it. I did find that the touch cover was too difficult for me to really type on, and have switched to the type cover.
