Hi guys & JoAnne,
I have some concerns about ransomware and its prevention. My present malware program is coming to an end and I am considering other programs. My problem is how do I get a fair and unbiased evaluation of these anti-malware programs?
I have read reviews and watched videos on YouTube but it seems that many such reviews are merely sales pitches in disguise. Therefore my question is, where can I find that unbiased opinion I'm looking for? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
As always, thanks in advance.

Thanks, Jay
I will check out the site you posted.
Right now I use the same anti-malware that you do. I have had no issues so far. My readings and viewing You Tube videos indicate that malwarebytes is not as successful as others. This is why I am looking into other possibilities.
Thank you for your assistance.

One of the main things that I like about Malware Bytes is that it checks web site code so, if you happen upon a malicious site, it will not allow it to load.

Hi Joe, if your first post was greeting me as well as the boys I'm sorry but you got my name wrong. My name is Joan although you did get my second name correct, Anne with an e. I'm with Jay and security, I run Windows Defender and MalwareBytes Premium plus hopefully common sense. I'm careful where I go and even in an email I know that if there's a link to a site that could be dodgy MalwareBytes will pop up a box to tell you they have blocked it as it contains something suspicious, I can't remember the exact words, it advises that you could proceed but you did so at your own risk. I have been running with this set-up for several years and it's kept me out of trouble.

Hi Joan, I apologize for getting your name wrong. I have a niece named Joanne and I guess I got confused. Being politically correct as I am. I didn't want you, our lady moderator, to feel slighted.
Like you and Jay I am already using Defender and Malwarebytes (Premium) but was checking other suites. I decided to stay with what I already have. I did go one step further and added Malwarebytes Privacy for the VPN.

I haven't messed with VPN as of yet. I've thought about it but really haven't seen the need.
