Jay, suddenly each time I get an email notification about a new post on this topic, when I click on the notification I get an error message stating that "Link address does not correspond to address shown in the email. Do you want to proceed?"
What is this all about?
EDIT: I am now getting this error message on all notifications.

I'll have to wait until I get another notification to check.

OK, now I see what you mean. The error or alert is in eM Client, not the site. The addresses do not match and I don't know why. I'll have to dig through the notification generator to see if I can see anything. Code: Here is the address I got in the notification: https://computerhaven.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2219&p=23818&e=23818 Here is the address in the address bar when I got here: https://computerhaven.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2219&p=23818#p23818 It seems to be putting in a "&e=" instead of "#p". I never noticed this as I never use the notification links. I just come here and look at unread posts.

I just looked at the notification email code and don't see anything wrong. Let's just monitor this for a few days and see if it is a temporary issue. BB, I assume that the notifications worked until recently?

I'll try to remember to use the notifications and keep watch but it is a standard variable that sends the link. I don't understand why the displayed email link and the actual link would be different as it is the same variable. Could someone else try a notification link to see if you have the same alert come up? I just want to rule out it being how eM Client is seeing the email as BB and myself are the only two I know of using this email client. The notification links to view the newest post and to stop watching the topic are the two involved. The email link to view the forum or topic seems fine. Actually I can't remember for sure if I tried the view topic link... I sort of doubt that it is an eM Client issue but want to rule out the possibility. Actually BB, if you see this soon, please reply. I have shut down eM Client and have the web mail version of the associated account open so I can check.

OK, I get the same result minus the warning in the web mail version of my account. I've tried both versions of the link and both seem valid which is going to make this very hard to track down. <edit>I just tried a comparison of the view the topic email link which also throws the alert. Code: https://computerhaven.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2225 -> email link https://computerhaven.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2225 -> address bar result Both the shown email link and the address bar result after using the link are the same. I would still like to see what another member sees in another email client.

Steve, since you got no error or warning in Outlook I sort of have to suspect that this is eM Client specific. If I remember right there was a very recent update to eM Client. Could possibly be an update flaw.
If the above is the case I'm sure they will correct. As is, all notification links actually DO work through eM Client; you just have to say 'yes' on the warning to actually then go to the link. I just don't see where there is anything that I can do on the site...

No warnings at all. Links just worked normally.

Oh, and I also get no errors or alerts if I access a notification through my hostings' web based email, only through eM Client.

Jay, you may be right about the recent eM Client update. Me thinks that's about the time I started seeing the error. But if I ignore the warning and click 'yes', it takes me to CH as if nothing happened. So I can live with this for now.

I hope that this all straightens out as I want everything to work properly with everything. There is just not anything that I can see that I can do.

Well I didn't get any notices today to test so went into my deleted folder to find the one from yesterday about Win 7 display problems.
Anyway, I didn't get any errors after clicking the links in the email. I use Thunderbird as my mail client and clicking on links it brings up Chrome as the browser as that's set as the default at the moment, even though I'm here via Edge as that's the one I tend to bring up for certain sites.
Even though I get notifications, like Jay I just come here and go straight to unread posts everyday.

So, four methods tried, eM Client, Outlook, Thunderbird and one of my web mails. Only one has an issue. I can think of only one conclusion...
Even though my conclusion is that it must just be eM Client that does not mean that I have suddenly turned against the thing. I still like it and will continue to use. If anything it is a case of being overly security cautious. For perfectly fine security there is no need to go past the match on domains.
I took a quick look for any "White List Settings" but have yet to find.
