Hi All
Having recently decided to drop AX64 as an imaging / snapshot program, I was looking for a second solution to back up my old reliable ShadowProtect.
I tested Macrium Reflect, but had a restore fail on my Sager Laptop. It was a minor failure, but still things didn't work as they should have 100%. I used the Sager as the test restore, as it has the simplest disk layout, a c: drive and d: drive, no other utility or boot partitions. OS is Win7x64. But it was an XP to 7 upgrade.
So then I thought I try the Win 7 build in imaging software. First I made the recovery CD. Then I went ahead and imaged the system. Ran with no apparent problems and said imaging was sucessful. Having done that I booted to the recovery CD. Went thru all the steps. Very clear cut. Only option I changed was to turn off the disk check and auto reboot. The recovery went fine and at the end it said it was successful. I rebooted. Machine went thru all it's bios stuff, and then went to a black screen with a flickering curser. Only other thing different was Raxco's new IR is installed. Tried rebooting with same result. THen I booted to Shadowprotect's recovery CD, and got a perfect restore.
Any ideas?
Pete
