I was cleaning up my computer room and decided to check out my Windows 10 Computer to see if it was still working ok and right off I ran into a couple of problems.
1. It is about 10 times slower than Windows 7
2. I can't find out how to shut it off other than a manual shut down.
Any help will be appreciated

My first guess would be that the system was trying to do updates.

If you right click on the Start Button you will get a menu which will have power options (near the bottom).
Power options are also available in the lower right corner if you just left click on the start button (symbol).

Thanks, I was able to shut it down using the right click in the lower left corner. It is still very slow.

Did you check to see if it was installing updates? If you've not used it for a while it probably has a few to install.

What do I click on to check that out?

Click on Update History when within Windows Updates. If the problem was caused by updates going on that would likely be done and the system should be running better.

I clicked on update history and it said that updates were successfully installed on 2-28-2022 and it does seem to be ok now

I figured the chances were good that things would improve on their own if updates were involved. The system seeming to run slow was probably due to the updates going on in the background and the report from Update History showing the install on 2/28 and your initial post being 3/1 tends to further indicate it was the updates being installed.

Glad to hear updates seemed to be the problem and your machine is running better now, I know I had quite a few updates to install on mine the other day because I hadn't used that Windows 10 laptop for a while.
