In the last few weeks,I've been having trouble getting to my Xfinity home page using IE 11. The page doesn't open all the way. FF opens it completely. If I go to Internet Options- Security and uncheck Enable Protected Mode the page opens fine. Any ideas? No problem with IE11 on my Win 7 machine
Win 10 up to date

It MAY be caused by a faulty security certificate but I would think that would bring up a certificate specific alert. I only mention it due to the number of sites with this issue including Spectrum and Newegg for just two.
Just for grins try turning on compatability for the site.
For the record I don't seem to have an issue with Xfinity.com but DO get a notice stating 'Only secure secure content is displayed...'.

Hi Chas, I have no idea about your problem just thought the question would be one the experts would want to know, you see you've got Jay helping you now.

Don't know that I'm going to be much of a help. I was hopeing that Steve would chime in.
Have you trtied Edge? I'm not sure but THINK that both IE and Edge use the same 'Internet Options'. If Edge also fails it MAY poing to a setting other than protected mode.
Personally I would not chase things around. I'd just do a reset of IE11 under advanced settings.

Thanks Jay I'm not going to stress about it. I'll just use FF for now.

If you decide to do an IE reset it isn't really all that painful. About all that I've lost doing it are auto log-ins. Just do not select to remove 'Personal settings'.

OK, just thought that it might help. I tried about everything to get NFL Gamepass to load properly in IE11 and nothing worked except a reset. Just seemed like a similar case as Gamepass would load fine in FF.

I was told to delete IE history.Went Internet Options and deleted history from there. To my surprise it worked. I figured that CCleaner would take care of that Wow

I can see history working. Actually I should have suggested that. I don't really work on sites much anymore but it is amazing the number of times I'd make a change to a site but could not see unless I deleted history and did a refresh.

Another option that seems to be working for me is to set IE to delete temp Internet files when the browser is closed. With today's connection speeds there is really no need for a bunch of temp files being kept. Here is what I have set to delete. Attachment:

YW. Do you mean that it already looked like my example or you changed things to duplicate?

OK, I hope that the addition of history helps. I have had no issue with NFL Gamepass since I added history to be deleted about a year ago.

Jay & chasbox - When you delete history, does that include everything you have checked, i.e., history, cookies, temp internet files, favorites website data, etc.? Or just the history (list of all websites you have visited)? Thanks.....

Yes Check this out https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... ng-historyThanks. I kinda knew that, but I was never clear on just what should be deleted. Occasionally I will be trying to install a program and it will say to first clear my browsing history. And I never know exactly what I should delete.
