As I get older and my eyesight get worse, I find myself needing larger monitors. I am currently using a 27" ViewSonic flat screen, up from a 24" many years ago. I am now going to get either a 32" or 34" monitor, which is about the largest my computer desk will accommodate.

I'm thinking of getting a curved monitor instead of another flat one. But I've never owned a curved monitor, so I would appreciate any input and/or recommendations.

Thanks in advance....

I've never used a curved monitor but, from ads and stuff, I've sort of thought of them as mainly gaming or graphics editing screens.

Here is a pretty in depth article that may be of interest.

Keep the monitor and adjust the resolution to make everything larger.

Read the article I linked. ;) It points out that a curved monitor is actually easier on the eyes.

Jay, I read the article and saw that conclusion. I was just hoping that you or someone on the forum had actually used a curved monitor and could talk to me about it.

EDIT: Thanks for the article.

No worries. :)

I'm just sorry that I can't help much. The only system I'd even consider doing a curved monitor would be my main and one would be useless as the monitors are ~8-9 feet from where I sit. Being blind in my right eye would also take away from the advantage of a curved just as I would LOVE to get a virtual visor but only having one working eye is an issue there too.

Here is a thought... If you have a store that sells the curved things sit in the store for a while and see if you like. If you do this keep inh mind that it is reported that the things take a bit of getting used to.

Going to a store for trial is a good idea. But since I live in the boonies that would be a trip of at least 30 miles. That's why these days I buy most stuff online, except for my local mom & pop grocery store.
