I have Foxit and Adobe reader. Can I get rid of Adobe? Thank you in advance.

Thank you Manny. I just uninstalled Adobe Reader. Sometimes I need a little reassurance to do things.

You're welcome and you won't notice it's gone.

Foxit is a lot lighter on the system so you'll be glad you got rid of Adobe. I've used it for years and I'm very pleased with it.

Can I convert a PDF file to a text document. I sent a Foxit PDF to a friend of mine. He can't open it.

Not without a program that can edit PDF files or convert them. If you created the PDF, then save it in a different format. If you downloaded it from someplace, the file may be protected.
Your recipient should be able to open a PDF file with any number of free PDF readers, though, unless the file is corrupted.
