I currently have Carbonite. Can I also use Microsoft One Drive in addition? Could there be any conflicts? Thank you in advance.

No conflict at all. But OneDrive is not a backup program - it will not automatically backup new files or changed files, it doesn't track these. It is simply a storage bin. You can put in it however much you are allocated spacewise.
For instance, I store copies of all my digitized music on my OneDrive, but I have to upload the new additions to my collection myself.

A question on that Patty. Can Sync Toy access One Drive? Would it be possible to set up Sync Toy to actually turn One Drive in to a sort of automated data backup platform? I haven't messed with One Drive at all but isn't it seen as a network drive? If so should not sync Toy be able to access? at myself... I just went to Windows Explorer looking for One Drive and it was not there. Oh ya, I'm on my media system in Windows 7. Hmmm, Have to remember to see if Win 7 can access One Drive.

OneDrive isn't seen as a network drive, as such. When you install the OneDrive client on Windows 7, it creates a OneDrive folder on your PC in the %User% folder branch. You can set up OneDrive to sync everything in the cloud to your PC and vice versa using this folder. For example, if you change the location of your Documents folder to be within the OneDrive folder on the PC, it will replicate to the cloud storage and keep it in Sync. Patty is not synchronizing her music folder automatically, I believe, but rather manually uploading to OneDrive storage in the cloud. I stopped using SyncToy ages ago, so can't speak to its ability to sync to the OneDrive folder on the local PC, but I imagine it should. I'm sure that SyncToy will not sync directly to the OneDrive cloud storage, though. SyncToy would only sync local and local network folders. -steve

Actually Steve, I am using SyncToy to synchronize the offline OneDrive folder, which then uploads anything new to OneDrive. I don't know how this will work in Windows 10. I was told the offline files folder was going away, but something I read indicated perhaps that wouldn't be the case - by popular demand.

Yes, Jay, and that's exactly what I'm doing. It still isn't automatic though. I still have to run a sync, then it automatically uploads the new and changed files.

Hmmm, probably more hassle than it would be worth but I suspect that you could do a Task Manager Script to schedule the sync. That would actually automate the sync.
It would be much like the script I used with Win 8 when there was no option to boot to the classic desktop. Scheduled a task to run explorer.exe on boot and that forced Win 8 to open on the classic desktop.
Task Manager can be a bit weird to work with at times but can automate a LOT of mundane chores.

Yeah, but if I did that, it would run way more often than I needed it to. I run it when there is material to sync.

I signed up for Dropbox as I could not figure out how to move files into One Drive. I tried to drag and drop files from my hard drive into One Drive but it would not go in.

No, you can't drag and drop to OneDrive, at least not to the website. You have to upload which is a pain in the neck. But there is a folder in your Personal folders which shows you what is on your OneDrive. You can drag and drop folders and files into it, that will then automatically sync up to the OneDrive.

I believe that the local OneDrive folder will continue to exist. In essence, you have 2 local copies of files that are also synchronized to the server. -steve

If I decided to start using One Drive I might think about doing a Task Manager script to sync... say once a week. Possibly as a backup to my data partition.

Yup. Good idea. And if you have Office 365, you've got a storage capacity of 1 TB - OR, if you got in on the promotion UNLIMITED cloud storage. Pretty nice!

I use OneDrive for my photo's from my Lumia. The phone is set to automatically put the photos taken with my phone in the OneDrive folder which are then available on the computers so I can back them up.
I do have Dropbox as well but didn't bother putting it onto this Lumia when I upgraded as OneDrive works well for me.
