Many of the artists of yesteryear are still performing. The advantage of them being not quite so prominent in the music scene as they used to be is they eventually tour smaller towns. This means you get to see all the names from your youth at fairly local venues. Some are only a few miles away from us.
We've been to see Joe Brown, The Hollies and The Searchers in the past. Some of the tribute bands are worth seeing too. Talon (The Eagles) and Think Floyd (Pink Floyd) particularly so.
Last night was: The Foundations, Jaki Graham and Geno Washington (with the Ram Jam Band). A noisy but good night. The groups don't have all of the original musicians but there's always one or two of them still there.
The Ram Jam band are all good musicians but we were really impressed by the lead guitar player. Only a young chap (early 20's I'd say) but Boy! could he play. Anyone who strums a few chords on a guitar like I do will wonder how anyone so young could be so good.
Booked up to see Elke Brooks next.
