Jay, I agree with Steve on two points: (1)The room is really looking nice....you have excellent coordinated taste, and (2) running the cable cover along the baseboard would be far less noticeable....even more so if you use a tan or even a white cover.
Job well done, my friend.

Job well done, my friend. Thanks! I'm quite happy. The only thing now is deciding whether to have the 'X' frame on the end table to the sides or facing the room. I'm really undecided on this but more and more liking the X on the end table facing the room. I mean once figurines are on the end table's shelves easy access won't really be needed. any opinions? I am just really surprised that the end table blends so well with the other stuff as it is from a different company. Actually I'm happy everything blends so well as it was all selected from on-line images which are often not all that accurate.

If the X frame faces the room, that will somewhat hide the figurines that you put on the end table shelve. So I would have the X facing the sides. Just my opinion.

It dawned on me that my bedroom table lamp would also fit in well so I went and grabbed. Since it is close to the smaller display I would use a very low wattage bulb, possibly even purple to match the other lighting I normally use. I think I really like it and there is still plenty of space for someone to set a drink as indicated by the coaster. I think the lamp is perfect. Still haven't decided but I don't think that the 'X' on the end table facing the room would much affect any figurines as they would be more to catch light and refract such as crystals and prisms. Still up in the air on this... Attachment:

Try one direction for a few days, then try the other direction for a few days. At that point you can decide which you liked best. I still vote for.....

Ya, I'll be back and forth on the end table for a while. Sooner or later one or the other will take dominance. Won't really know until I have stuff on the shelves to see what works best. As with many things it is the final touches that take to longest to figure out. There is no real hurry on this as I'm currently happy and know that the finishing touches will come together.

You are welcome -- if it works out. I haven't run any wires under the baseboard here at the new house yet, but if I decide I need to get Ethernet to my wife's PC one floor down, I'm going to need to use that trick once I drop the wire through the floor into a closet below, then tuck the cable under the baseboard from the closet to her desk.

Ya, I've got the ethernet and phone cables for my bedroom along the baseboard.
As to the extension cord and USB cable that I'm running I'm not going under the baseboard but still using the wire cover. Being along the wall the brown is fine. Of course I didn't think it out enough and just left the longer USB connected to the computer and added the shorter. Wrong move. Where the cables join is not going to fit in the wire cover. No big deal as I just need to connect the shorter to the computer and then add the longer.

Well, except for some fine tuning I'm finally done. Found a purple bulb for the lamp on my end table but even at only 25 watt it seems too bright but OK. I'll have to keep my eye open for a 10-15 watt bulb. LOL! I should have just painted my walls purple... Attachment:

<edit>Did some playing with some nylon fine mesh I have to filter the purple light. I would prefer to find a lower wattage bulb but doubt that I will. Since the bulb is LED with next to no heat output I see no issue with using the mesh as a filter. Not perfect but I think it is better. Attachment:
