Since I'm a Cleveland Browns fan I have to hope for the Chiefs for just one reason. If Tampa Bay wins it would mean that Brady would have 7 championships. Only one professional quarterback currently holds 7 championships; that being Otto Graham of the Cleveland Browns way back when. Though in the Hall Of Fame Graham does not get the credit he deserves as his championships were prior to the start of the Superbowl. It seems that all such records were thrown out with the start of the Superbowl.

They call Brady the "GOAT" (Greatest Of All Time) but it has taken Brady 20 years of playing to even have a chance of 7 championships. Graham did 7 in 10 years of playing. In fact he went to a championship game in every one of the 10 years he played winning 7.

I sometimes wonder why these old records no longer count but actually know the answer. Professional football is no longer a pure sport. It is now a hybrid between a sport and part of the entertainment industry. In today's football there is a need for the possibility of records being broken. With the current free agency in football (and other factors) it is pretty much impossible that a quarterback of today could even come close to what was done by Graham.

I consider Brady the only possibility of matching or even breaking Graham's record. Some are already saying that Patrick Mahomes of KC is the "second coming" but this is not likely to be the case as he is a probably a flash in the pan just like other running quarterbacks. Running quarterbacks just don't last long. Michael Vick is considered one of the best but in his entire career he never played an entire season without missing games.

I kind of hope that Tampa Bay win for the sole reason that a geriatric QB shouldn't have to stop playing just because history says when you get to a certain age you're too old.

On the other hand, give the kids a chance!

At risk of getting myself into an area where i know not of what i'm talking about and do not really want to go... American Football is arguably nothing more than a TV spectacle and not really a sport... i would never say that to the participants because they are undoubtably sportsmen, but is a sport really a sport if TV dictates how it's played?

Tin hat on crawling back to my dugout.

Brady isn't even close to being the oldest quarterback... Way back when, George Blanda played until the age of 48 or 49 playing quarterback, place kicker and linebacker.

I didn't say he was the oldest, rather he is getting there by todays standards... anyways i'm ducking back out of this thread because i really have no knowledge other than as a casual observer who really wished the sport was less ad restricted by TV.

I'm a Tom Brady fan all the way. But if I was a betting man, I would have to go with the Chiefs.

I also remember the days of George Blanda, when he played for the Houston Oilers in the '60's

Actually betting on the Chiefs could be a bad bet. One never knows what will happen on any given Sunday but Tampa ranks well above KC in any and all important stats. Of course it is a one game series and the season stats don't always mean that much.
