I know there are a few of you out there, there must be. Several weeks ago I got an email from Starbucks talking about its new Verismo V. Sounded very interesting, whereas the old one never interested me. (The new one is generation 2.) We went out to look at it at one of the Starbucks stores and picked up the Verismo V system. (That's a Vee, not a 5.) That includes the milk frother, which is the main reason I wanted one, as I don't use cow's milk and so haven't been able to go out and enjoy my beloved lattés anymore. With my own frother I can use Flax Milk or Cashew Milk or Macadamia Milk, or any other "milk" of my choosing.

I absolutely love this machine! And everything you make tastes just like it does at Starbucks. (With the exception of the different milks.) I have made lattés, cappuccinos, mochas, flavored lattés, espressos, café mistos, Americanos, decaf versions of many of these, oh, as well as just plain brewed coffee! We've tried 3 different espressos and 5 or 6 different brewed coffees. Love them all. Of course we are spending lots of money on Verismo V coffee pods! That will come down as we "try everything!" But it has been enormous fun trying everything!

Highly recommend this machine.

Oh, shoot, REAL Starbucks espresso? I want one of those machines!!!! And since Patty allows changes of subject in her threads, which I agree with, and since Jay is always touting his favorite sport teams some of them I even like: GO PENN STATE. :dance2:

Yep. Real Starbucks Espresso, Decaf Espresso, Christmas Blend Espresso. Those are the ones we have tried - but there are a number of other espressos. One of these days soon I'm going to order their espresso sampler pack to see if I like any of the others. Christmas Blend Espresso is delightful! Just plain.

It's all here at http://verismo.com.

Looks like an interesting machine. Do you know if it will work with other brands of coffee? It sort of reads as though it requires the Starbuck pods. I'm one of those odd people that just does not care for Starbucks Coffee.

Hey, I called this thread "Calling all Starbucks fans," for a reason. LOL It wasn't for the rest of you guys!

No, this takes Starbucks pods only. That's why it tastes like Starbucks coffee. ;)

Well as I've never had it I wouldn't know whether I'd like it or not. :-D I do love coffee though but these days it's just instant through the day and I use my electric percolator after the evening meal, just enough for a couple of cups each.

I like milky coffee and Irish coffee but without the alcohol. :-)

Joan, I too love percolated coffee. My old Farberware electric percolator made some of the finest coffee I've ever tasted. Gave it up years ago due to the messiness and time factors and went to single cup drippers and a combination style French press/dripper - but was still using Starbucks coffee in those. Still, I gotta love just turning on the machine and hitting a button and getting a hot cup of coffee a minute later. ;)

I love Irish coffee, with the alcohol. But haven't had alcohol, or an Irish coffee, in years, and will likely never have another.

At first I did not like Starbucks coffee either. But after a while I really developed a liking for it, like for so many other foods and drinks that took a while for developing a liking. But I always loved their espresso from day one. Weird, even specialty cafe shops don't have espresso as delicious as Starbucks. Wonder what the heck Starbucks is doing different from everyone else?

If you're creative can the pods be refilled with an alternate brand of coffee and reused? With the Keurig machines you can buy the generic cups and fill them yourself.
