I get kicked offline about 3 times as much as anyone else in our home, and I am sick of it. I also have other little glitches going on, like losing my two-finger scroll on the touchpad and a few times the screen has just blacked out for no reason. This morning it shut down completely without warning, which was annoying to say the least, but when it rebooted, my 2 finger scroll was back, which was nice. Haven't had that for the past several reboots. I ran MSE and Malwarebytes, neither of which found anything. Not sure what else to do besides hope! So annoying.

Shut down completely suggests a power supply or other hardware problem. Since your other issues are with the touch pad and network connection and it's an external power supply/battery, I'm thinking motherboard problem. How old is the laptop? Is it still under warranty? You said you're the only one this happens to in the home -- is that on the same PC, but under a different User login or different PCs?

Steve, do you think it could also be a thermal issue?

Yes, it could be overheating, but I wouldn't expect overheating to only affect connectivity. Overheating will shut down the PC to protect the CPU and it is a hard/immediate shutdown.
