We had about an hour without power earlier today. A large Bull Snake got into a main sub-station and shorted it out cutting power to Sheridan, Ranchester and Dayton Wyoming.

One would think these things would be sealed against critters. :dunno:

LOL! At least I know my battery backup works. ;) I have my main system, Main monitor, router and cable modem connected to battery and none ever skipped a beat. :) I DID lose my cable landline phone though. I'm sure that it was just a mistake on my part. My battery backup has 5 battery backed outlets and 5 just surge. I'm sure that I just plugged the phone into the wrong bank. I'll have to pull it out and check.

I've been looking for a new landline phone today. I didn't think it would be that hard to find one that had a corded base with cordless handsets, it seems these days everything is cordless.

All this cordless stuff is ok but if you lose the power you use the use of the landline so I insist I have to have at least one of the phones corded so that at least I can still make and receive calls during a power cut. I'm on the electricity company's priority list so need to be in touch with them so that if they are not aware of the power loss I can make them aware, if they already know about it I will get a recorded message telling me when they expect to have me connected again.

Managed to find one on Amazon that has 3 additional handsets which is perfect.
