In another thread I was looking for an example of using ceramics to cut very hard steel. This search reminded me a bit of what I used to do. I programmed, setup and ran computer controlled machines to cut steel (CNC machines).
I actually found this enjoyable in the aspect that I would take a raw chunk of steel and make something from it. The downside was the stress. Potentially a simple one character typo could destroy a half million dollar machine.
