https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55145696

Quote:
The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, paving the way for mass vaccination.
Britain's medicines regulator, the MHRA, says the jab, which offers up to 95% protection against Covid-19 illness, is safe to be rolled out.

Yes indeed -- great news. US approvals should follow next week.

Oxford Vaccine Approved

This is without doubt the best news i've had this year!

At time of posting it only applies to the UK but i sincerely hope it's approved all over the world.

On a personal level, i always hoped i would get the Oxford vaccine if it was approved simply because it's based on existing tried and tested methods for producing vaccines, and not one of the new fangled methods that the likes of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines use.

Of course, i'll get what is offered, but given that the Oxford vaccine is being supplied profit free and licensed without profit worldwide (see the video below for more on that), add that it can be stored in a normal fridge.... the chances are i'll be offered the Oxford vaccine when my time comes.

2021 is already shaping up to be a very happy new year indeed :nana1:

Yes, indeed. That is good news. And it is anticipated that it will also be approved in the US before too long with a few other vaccines in the pipeline also showing promise.
