If you have read the books don't bother with this as it is just too different from the story. Normally when I've read books and then see a movie I miss things that are in the book that are missing in the movie. In this case it is the opposite as they added many things that never happened in the book. Sometimes this isn't all that bad as in the movie Rudy. In that case, when all the defensive players dropped their jerseys on the coach's desk... it never actually happened. Same movie at the end when Rudy gets a sack not quite as it really happened, He WAS involved in a sack but not on his own as he combined with another player for the sack.

Stuff like the things with the movie Rudy don't much bother me as they don't much change the real story but what they did with Dune did change the story.

Interesting, my wife is a Sci-Fi nut, take it as read that if you were to ask her anything about any character or plot line in any Star Trek or Star Wars episode/film she'd be able to tell you without thinking about it (the later Star Wars stuff she won't know, she's not a fan of the the stuff Disney are pumping out)... she's also a huge Babylon 5 (or as i call it, babbling dive lol) diehard, i love Sci-fi as well but B5 is just odd, that said i did love Mollari the character, mostly because i was forced to watch nearly every episode as she recorded them to VHS from live TV!

As for Dune, i don't know why but it's never been a film i've watched, possibly because it's based on a game and i'm not a big gamer and it put me off watching it on that basis?

I don't know if she's read the book (probably has if i know her at all) but i know she watched the first film and she just recently watched Part 2 and she loved it.

As an aside if you're into motor racing, i love F1 and came across this insight into the yet to be released still being filmed Brad Pitt F1 movie (called "F1") that's kind of a behind the scenes look but not from the production company, rather it's from a journalist (i think?) who has access to the F1 pitlane.

I obviously won't know if the film will be any good until it's released but this is a very interesting insight into how the film is being filmed, it's somewhat eye-opening if your into filming methods and behind the scenes stuff.

Dune based on a game??? Never even knew there was a Dune game until I just looked. All I found was 'Dune: Awakening' which isn't even out yet. :dunno: Oh, just found another, 'Dune: Spice Wars', but that came out well after the part one of the latest movie. Seems more like the games were based on the books/movies than the movies being based on the games.

Dune had a movie in 1984 and the video game i was thinking of was released in 1992, i didn't know the 1984 film was based on a 1965 novel and assumed the video game was a kind of spin-off from the movie but actually both were based on the novel.

Edit: I forgot to add that there were a surprising number of all types of games in the 90's and early 2000's based on Dune:

Actually I really like the Dune books and all 23 and have read many multiple times. I just may have to check out the game list to see if anything trips my trigger.

Actually, with the movies, I found the 1984 version the most accurate to the books until they blew it at the very end with it raining as rain didn't happen til at least the 4th or 5th book and the 1984 version with Sting was supposed to just be the first book.
