I have a 2 TB (1863.6 GB) internal drive that is currently partitioned into three (3) healthy primary partitions, as follows:
E: 56.95 GB contains SyncToy backups
D: 904.85 GB contains Acronis backups
F: 901.80 GB contains Windows backups

I'm now running out of space on Drive E, but have plenty of space on Drives D & F. However, Disk Management says I can't expand the volume of Drive E since there is no unallocated (available) space adjacent to Drive E.

Is there a way to expand the volume of Drive E?

Edit: I think I found a way using EaseUS Partition Master. It's a slow process and I will know in the morning if it worked.

With Windows Disk Management it only goes left to right if you look at the graph image. Still, what you want could be done but it would be an involved process.

Do you have an external drive that you could copy all three partitions. This could actually be done with multiple drives as long as each were able to hold a partition. Now you would then just right click on each original partition and delete which will result in they becoming unallocated space. Now you just partition again to what you want and then copy the saved partitions back to the drive. This will take quite a bit of time to do.

You could also do the partition backups to an external as said above but not bother to copy back after doing a new partition setup. Just do a new backup to each partition. This MAY actually be a little quicker but will still take some time.

I gave up on EaseUS software some time ago and now use MiniTool Partition Wizard Free, it does nearly everything i need including moving data within a partition so that unallocated space can be created at the start or end of a partition so other partitions on the same drive can be extended... depending on where partition data is located on the drive will dictate whether you need to resize one or more partitions. [Drive letters don't always mean thats the order of the data on a drive.]

It's been a while since i last needed to resize a partition so i don't remember how long it takes with MinTool but it did work reliably.

Really the best way to go is the way Jay suggested. Delete the data on the drive and then do a new backup.
Easiest and fasted.

P.S. I would want those backups on separate disks.....if that disk fails all your backups will be gone. Just speaking from experience.

When I got up this morning, EaseUS Partition Master had successfully completed with the desired results.

@Jay - I had thought about doing what you suggested until I discovered that EaseUS would do what I wanted while I slept.

@Doddie - Thanks for the recommendation. However, EaseUS has served me well over the years, so I will just stay with it.

@BillG - I hear what you are saying. But I also have my backups on two separate external drives. I am a big believer in backups and probably overkill.

Do you have the paid version of EaseUS Partition Master? I don't recall the free version doing that but it's been a long time since I've used.

Jay, I think I have the paid version. It contains the full suite, i.e., Partition Manager, Backup & Restore, Driver Updates, etc.
