This software does not have a built in spell checker. I would suggest installing ieSpell.
http://iespell.com/

Not only will it allow checking on forum posts but will check ANY form input you do. You just right click within the form field to check and select "Check spelling". It also allows adding words. Best of all, it's free.

Note: ieSpell is only for IE based browsers.

I use IE at work and must say IE spell is an absolute god send.

Firefox/Chrome and I believe opera all have built in spell checkers. (I could be wrong) but as far as free add-ins for IE go IE spell is spot on.

I'm another one that uses it and it's just second nature now that after typing a post I will automatically right click to check spelling.
I'm going to have to install it on here, I'm using the laptop at the moment and that doesn't have it so hope this lot is spelt right. :?

Spelled right, yes - but spelt is a grain. ;)

Oops ! I have it installed now so hopefully keep myself out of trouble.
I know spelt can be classed a verb as well as a grain, I never was any good at all this grammar and such. :?

No, spelt is only the grain. The past tense of "spell" is "spelled." Unless things are different in UK dictionaries.

Think it's an English thing Patty, you made me think about it so been looking in a couple of my dictionaries and they class it a verb and as a p.t. which I think means past tense of spell, which is why I put it that way to me it sounded right.
One of the others says the same thing, it's the past tense of spelled. ;)

As I mentioned in another post, IESpell only works in a 32 bit environment. If you are running in a 64 bit environment you will need a program like Speckie which runs in both 32 and 64 bit mode. It is a little different in that it will underline the misspelled word and you right click on it and it will give you choices for a correct word. This is done as you type so there is no "spell check" at the end. I now feel like I have my safety net again. I recommend it, I like it, and it works.

It is found at http://speckie.com/dload/

Are you using 64 bit IE? because it will not work for me with 64 bit IE.

No, I'm default with IE which should be 32bit.

That explains why it will work for you. My computer defaults to 64 bit, probably something I set a long time ago when testing.

When you said it wouldn't work in 64bit I thought you meant 64bit Windows.
