Is there a way to password protect a folder in Windows 7 Pro. I read some stuff on how to do it but they all say to right click on the file and send to Archive but I do not get that option when I right click on any of my folders.

Hi Jay......actually, what I want to do is a bit different than all that. I meant to say that I want to password protect a folder that is on a USB Hard Drive that is running on Windows 7 Pro. I saw this video on YouTube about how to do it but it looks like it's a bit beyond my pay scale so I was wondering if you would take a look at it and let me know it its something that would work.

That actually looks like it would probably work. If you try the .BAT to .EXE converter make sure to scan the download with your security software before running just to be safe. If you have other folders on the drive that you do not want protected just move the ones that you want to the "test" folder as described in the video. While the commentator used the name "test" for the folder I would think that you could use any name.

DO make sure to make a backup before doing this!

I may even try it out myself sometime.
