Since I'm running both the current release of Windows 10 and the latest Windows Insider Build on PCs from 2008, I happy that it runs good on these old devices. I jumped from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and haven't regretted the move.
As to Windows Defender's ransomware protection, it may not be perfect but for click-happy consumers, it may be just what they need to protect their computer. Thinking back to the Windows 95, ME and XP era and having to keep reminding users to install A/V and firewall programs, I really appreciate that both are available for consumers.
