Ya it is still 10 months away but it will get here. I think now and then on how I will handle it.

My micro system is already Windows 11 and, both, my Microsoft Surface and my main system have had Windows 11 installed before so they can be upgraded for free as they already have an associated digital license although my main ran into issues with later Windows 11 updates... It doesn't meet specs due to the CPU being first generation. I know that I could go to a generation 3-4 CPU on my motherboard but why should I have to spend hundreds of dollars to bring the system up to Windows 11 specs? :dunno:

Bedroom backup system I'll likely just leave as Windows 10 as it never goes on-line anyway so I'm not all that concerned about such security.

Anyone else thinking about this?

I guess I am starting to worry about it. I have three computers running Windows 10, and one computer running Windows 7 and Windows 10 in dual mode. Only one of my computers qualifies for Windows 11, that being my primary 2-year old Asus.

So probably in 2 or 3 months I will upgrade the Asus to Windows 11. As you know, Jay, I run Windows XP in virtual mode on this Asus, and I worry about losing that capability during the upgrade (if I do, I will be running to you for help).

Then I just won't go on line with any of the other computers still running Windows 10..

As long as you do an upgrade install instead of a clean install your virtual machine SHOULD be fine. That does not mean that it will be OK but it should. Just be sure to backup the virtual XP files before doing the upgrade.

I'll likely be retiring and replacing my desktop before October. It won't run Windows 11 and is actually pretty old now and tends to run hot. My Surface runs W11, as does my wife's desktop.
