Happy New Year! I hope everyone is healthy and stays that way in 2022!

I am currently running Windows 10 Pro; V: 21H1 installed on 11/2/2021. There is a new version of Windows 10; V: 21H2 ready for installation in Windows Update. Is this a continuation of Windows 10 or the next step towards Windows 11? Is this really necessary if Windows 11 is coming down the pike? Thanks for your help.

It's an update for Windows 10. If your PC is supported for Windows 11 (CPU, TPM, other specs), WU will offer Windows 11 to you (as it has in your image) and you can choose to go right to Windows 11.
Of course, you can ignore the 21H2 feature update and delay the Windows 11 upgrade as you will continue to get the monthly roll-ups for security issues and fixes.

Thanks Steve! I installed the update on both machines. One machine is Windows 11 compliant and the other isn't. Should be interesting in the future.
