Hi all, you may remember me posting a thread about Pop ups and the subsequent advice that was given on how to prevent them. Such as making changes to IE9. I did make the changes as suggested now for some reason my machine does not remember any passwords. Every time I try to visit CH I have to login. Every time I visit my bank's web site, I have to login. I am not sure what I did but my machine use to remember network passwords. How do I go about changing this???? Many thanks in advance Cheers: Rich

Your bank will never (or should never) allow your login password to be saved for the https connection. For Computer Haven and similar, though, you need to allow the browser to save cookies and the site to send cookies. -steve

Ok Steve, I think I got it fixed. I worded the original thread wrong, the bank web site doesn't save my password, it saves my debit card number for logging on. Once I log on it takes me to another window so I can enter my password. Sorry for the confusion. I had cookies blocked that is why I had to log in here all the time. It works fine now and many thanks. Cheers:

Glad that you got it sorted. No problems on the wording -- you were seeing the results of having cookies blocked, which would be the login details not being stored. In the case of your bank that would be only the login name in a "remember me" option and in a forum like this, it keeps you logged in and remembers the state of the forum based on a last login time stamp. -steve

Personally, I don't type in passwords for bank accounts at all. I prefer to keep these details on a memory stick, and copy and paste them. This avoids key logging. I did have Rapport on the computer, but recently had a lot of problems that I narrowed down to Rapport. I contacted them and they admitted to having some potential problems. They claim to have corrected these, but I have not yet reinstalled it.
