I've been watching Fox News a lot lately regarding Covid-19. Nightly I see an ad for PC Matic, professing to have out performed all other virus detectors on a test. And of course, it will 'clean up' your computer. But when I did a program review, it didn't rate very high. What came out the #1 in most reviews was a program I never heard of called TotalAV.

Has anyone used TotalAV and/or have an opinion?

Sorry but I have no knowledge of the app. I am perfectly happy with Defender and MBAM. ;)

Well, I am too, but several reviews rate it higher than MBAM. So I was just trying to find out some info. Hopefully someone who uses it will respond.

I mean, I was happy with XP and Win 7, but here I am at Win 10, lol.

As a followup I did a search for reviews on TotalAV. The reviews show it to be decent but really only with the highest tier of three.

On the down side the Web Shield only works with Firefox and Chrome. If you use any other browser it offers no protection. It also seems to include tools that want to mess with the system registry which I cannot endorse.

Thanks, Jay. The reviews I saw rated it #1 out of 10, but I didn't investigate it to the extent you obviously did.

Bill, I went to your referenced website and looked at the results. I'm not sure I understood everything in that fact sheet, but I got the general gist of things. It appears that there are several excellent products, but TotalAV is not one of them. Thanks for the info.
