I am currently using IE9 and of late it seems no matter what web page, I go to, I get these annoying pop ups, in the lower right hand side of my screen. They are basically adverts but they show up everywhere. I currently have my pop up blocker engaged and my privacy is set to medium high yet they still show up. Does anyone know how I can stop these things.

Your comments and advice are welcome.

Cheers: Rich :o

Check to see what add-ons are running in IE9. Run a full scan with your antivirus program and Malwarebytes Antimalware. I don't know that it is an infection, since re-directs are not involved, but unless all of the sites you visit have pop-ups coded to them, you are being presented ads from something that is parsing out your web destinations.

Do you have Smartscreen Filter ticked in Internet Options. I'm using IE9 and don't have that happen. I've just been to have a quick look at Internet Options and I have a tick in the Smartscreen Filter, don't know if that makes any difference. I have my Internet Options set to the defaults which is Medium.

Have you run scans to check you haven't got any spyware or malware lurking on the machine ?

Have you added any tool bars? Have you installed any new software? Look through Programs and Features to see if there is anything that you don't recognize. If you are not careful a lot of software installs will add stuff you don't want.
