Even if your router is not on the list the FBI recommends re-booting. I have my Belkin router set to automatically re-boot every day at 4:30 AM so I guess I'm covered. https://www.zdnet.com/article/fbi-to-al ... 2179861831 |

Thanks for the heads-up Jay, as a TP-Link owner (not the model affected) i was initially alarmed, but after rebooting my router, and reading the following i assume I'm safe: https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2212.html One thing that caught my attention in the threads that lead way from your original link though is this... Quote: The researchers recommend users of small and home office-grade routers and NAS devices reset them to factory defaults and reboot them in order to remove the stage 2 and stage 3 malware, and reach out to device manufacturers to ensure up-to-date patching. Source: https://www.zdnet.com/article/talos-fin ... n-ukraine/Updated at 4.08pm AEST, May 24, 2018 There seems to be scant documentation or evidence that recommends removal of Stage 1, something i find puzzling if removal were to be complete. |
