This is absolutely NOT a problem, just a point of curiosity. I always shut off my system every evening and turn it on the next morning. Starting several days ago when I turn it on in the morning, there is always a blank Word document waiting for me. I just close it and things are back to normal.

Why did Word suddenly start giving me a blank document? Like I said, just curious.

That's a feature Microsoft now enables by default. You can turn it off here:
Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options>

Turn off "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart." and "Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them after I sign in.

The second setting above really probably does not matter.
