Has anyone else noticed that the name of Office 365 has changed. Even the logos have changed the menu. I have just been reading about it.
One can edit the message but not the title.....sorry about that. just my aged eyes.

It was rebranded from "Office 365" to "Microsoft 365 Office" at the end of 2022. It just got rebranded *again* to "Microsoft 365 CoPilot"

Microsoft branding is rather confusing and confounding, too, at times. Some of their name changes have been pretty stupid, with this latest one to try and promote their AI investment, Co-pilot, being pretty stupid. Microsoft Office is a widely recognized name with decades of history. Microsoft Office 365 was a dumb name, but at least it still retained "Office" as a cornerstone.

I really didn't know that it was now Copilot. Looking at the Microsoft sales page it still shows as just Microsoft 365 even though it does have Copilot included.

Ya, I sort of wondered if Microsoft just hadn't updated their pages.
I DID notice the price increase of $30.00/year for my Microsoft 365 Personal subscription from $69.99/year to $99.99/year but about a week ago I got an email notice of an upcoming payment being due and it was stated at still $69.99/year.
Give your opinion... for the normal user is there really any advantage to having AI? For myself I can't really see any need but, to be honest, I haven't even looked at Copilot other than to disable as I find it irritating and a nuisance.

I see no real value in AI at this time. I will play with it a bit -- as my subscription to Family renews in about a year, so I have plenty of time to decide if I want to keep it or not.

Actually I think the term, AI, is being used more for profit than being real. Sure, AI has advanced dramatically since the times I played with it way back in the 1980's but it is still a program that relies on very advanced systems of the old 'if/then' statements in the old days. While AI can be very impressive it is really in no way intelligence as it still relies on predefined output depending on input. Some people are afraid that AI will take over the world but that is not even remotely a possibility at least at this point. Could some 'super geek' use AI to take over the world? Actually that is not impossible but it would be the super geek, not the AI, doing the deed. AI is just a tool as is a gun. Can't blame the gun for a murder as it was just the tool. The murderer is the killer, not the gun. Same is true with AI; it is not guilty of anything. If misused, such as in some of the newer spam phone calls, it is the person/s using the AI for this, not the AI itself. This may sound bit like the book 1984 but AI could become a real issue for the general populous as they won't be able to know they are actually dealing with AI instead of a person. Still it is not AI that is at fault but the people that use it for personal gain against those that can't see the difference between human and AI. I have received a few AI spam phone calls and have found it easy to tell the difference between AI and human. A human will normally respond immediately to an every day question such as "are you having a good day?". With an AI spam phone call this will not be the case as there will be a slight delay in the response while the AI searches its data base for the proper response.

Plus, on the AI span phone calls, their response to your answer to their question is already programed to reflect what they expect. For example, if they ask you "how are you doing today" and you answer "terrible headache", their automated response will be "that's nice" or something similar.
