Since you have recurring payments through Best Buy I'd imagine that you would have an on-line account which may give such options but I really don't know. Shoot, I don't even know if you can do that if getting through Microsoft but I know I don't get reminders before payment.

The above said this may work as an option. If paying monthly I would think that it would be pretty close to the same day each month. You could set a monthly recurring notification in your Calendar set to how many days before payment that you want.

I can't answer for Best Buy, but I know that Microsoft sends an email in advance of the renewal charge.

Do they really? I don't recall getting. Possibly it's just that I've been doing it for so long I just tend to ignore. :dunno: I really should switch from monthly to yearly as it does save a few bucks.

I am pretty sure that I have gotten an email indicating that the subscription was renewing, but I could be mistaken! I also have an Small Business Office Exchange monthly subscription and I get an email a few days before the charge hits -- not enough time to stop it, but an email does come. Perhaps the annual Office subscription doesn't generate an email... My next due date is at the end of the year, so it will be quite a while before I can confirm or retract my statement! :-P

My $7.41 monthly Office charge tends to clear on the 12th of the month. If my feeble old brain can remember I'll try to pay attention to see if there is a notification email. It is such a small charge that I just don't really pay attention just like my monthly Netflix and Prime Video charges. To me these charges are just normal monthly stuff and I really don't pay much attention as they are included in my monthly budget so the money is always there. For such purchases that are not normal, such as my new TVs and video card, I just move the money from my savings so my actual budget isn't affected. In fact I pay so little attention to this kind of stuff I had to look at my on-line banking to see when Microsoft Office hits my account.

You do get a Microsoft reminder Jay, well I do for my 365 subscription.

I reduced my payment last year because after my hubbies death I didn't have as many computers to install it all on so I went down to the Personal edition instead of the Home one, think I got the names right.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and info!!! I guess I'll be looking at all my options and pick the one that makes this subscription more in my hands and not others. Have a great weekend Everyone! :) katy
