Since I am facing an uninstall reinstall on one of my machines, I have a question.
What would the pro's and con's of install Office 2013 Professional SP2 vs Office 2010 Professional be. Cost isn't a factor.

If cost is not a factor, I'd go with Office 365 Home Premium which will give you a subscription for 5 copies on 5 devices. As long as your subscription is current, you will always have the latest version. In the US you can get a year for appx. $100. If you only have one or two PCs, no tablets, no iPad, then I'd still go with 2013 to remain current. -steve

2013. For great features and security. Mainly security.

I AM curious as to why you pick 2013 over 360. Since you state security is it due to 360 being largely on-line?

2013 is what you get if you subscribe to Office Home Premium 365. 365 is no largely online, Jay, it installs on your PC(s). -steve

The online factor is what I want to avoid. When I say cost isn't a factor, it's because of the partners program, so I can use 2013 Professional plus on all three of my computers.
How does 2013 compare to 10 in terms of size and usability.
Patty security isn't that big of a concern to me, because all of my office programs are protected by Appguard, and it's rugged.

Size -- similar Usability -- generally better Security -- improved
Go with 2013.
Once again -- Office 365 Home Premium is not "online" -- it is a fully installed copy of Office. All of Office 2013 is more aware of OneDrive and SharePoint for integration. You don't need to use either.
Benefit of Office 365 Home Premium is that you are always up to date. Updates come from the subscription service, not via Windows/Microsoft Update.

Jay, I am in favor of Office 365, but that's just the licensing of it. Peter asked about 2010 vs. 2013. Right now 365 is Office 2013. You get more bang for your buck from the 365 version of it as opposed to a perpetual license. And 365 always remains updated, whether it is patches, new features or a new version.

Hi Folks
This is really helpful. Just two more questions.
1. I can't tell looking, but is Office 365 under the partners program. I would be a better deal if I dropped the partners program, but I am not ready to do that.
2. On Office 365 updating. Can the auto updating be turned off, and done manually. If it is installed on my machines, I can't let it auto update as the will fail and mess up everything. Primary reason for this is Appguard, which blocks any system installation unless I lower the security while updating. I have to do the same thing with Windows Updates.

Office 365 will display a tray icon when updates are available for the Office applications. I believe that you will always need to allow the update to proceed. [EDIT: I've never had one install automatically - I've had to click the icon and proceed]
I don't believe that Office 365 Home Premium is included in the Partner program (I'm not familiar with the program details). I would imagine that the Partner program has Office 2013 standalone apps only.

@ Patty and Steve; I don't know why I was really looking at 360 and 2013 as different critters. It is pretty obvious that they have to be the same. As to the on-line part I knew that 360 directly installs. By on-line I was referring to the association with One Drive and its direct checks for updates. Both of these aspects have already been answered. LOL! Keep in mind that as far as Office I am totally antiquated, still running 2007.
