I was in the NOOK app on my Android tablet looking for something to read and came across a listing for The Hobbit fully illustrated. I figured what the heck as it has probably been 35-40 years since I last read the thing. And they only wanted $9.99 for the '75th Anniversary Deluxe Edition' with a full forward including rejected art work. $9.99 is a lot for me for an e-book but it is a BIG book. If you have read The Hobbit you know that there are a LOT of songs involved. When I got to the first song there was a 'play button' on the page. Yep, there are audio versions of all the songs. I have never seen an e-book that included audio. I am more than happy with the $9.99 price.

Jay, I had never seen this before! I came to this forum to post a new topic and saw the title of this thread and had to take a look. How awesome! Would this work on a Nook HD, I wonder. It does have sound.

I don't know Patty. My tablet is an Android with a Nook app. I will say that when I made the initial post I was early in the book. As a follow-up the written songs that also had audio were rare and far between.

I can't use the Nook app anymore over here. Can't remember the full details now and I've deleted the emails that informed me. I'd had the app installed on this Notebook.

Yes, they too are dropping Windows support like a hot potato. Fine. I am dropping them. I've gone to a Kindle, who has an app for just about every device out there. Just like I dropped Verizon when they started dropping support for Microsoft phones. Switched to T-Mobile - who doesn't care what phone you have, as long as it works on their bands.

Yes here hubby has the e-reader, I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" and bought myself the new Kindle Fire 7" because that came with a camera and slot for an SD card which my other one didn't have. I've got the Kindle app on both my computers and my phone. When I used to go out on the bus I'd be able to read a book till I got to my destination.
