This made me smile big time, going through old photos in a backup folder....

Playing Galaxain, or was it Asteroids? In my hotel games room during the 1985 Isle of Man TT.... you can tell by the oil on my left hand i fubar'd the threads of one of the bolts on the rocker cover of my bike, i was not happy and decided the universe had to pay!

Later in the 80's... suffice to say her boyfriend wasn't best impressed even though it was harmless fun :rofl2:

In the 90's when i was a Pony Express despatch rider...
If memory serves me right i was having an issue with the hydraulic clutch, pic taken by one of my collegues, another was below the frame helping me bleed the clutch!:

In the 80's all i knew was acrade games, SNES was alien LOL

Actually that acrade game i was playing may well have been Space Invaders now i think about it?

For sure it would have been either Space Invaders, Galaxian or Asteroids because they were the only ones i played back then :)

I also liked Missile Command. Space Invaders got too easy as I caught on to the pattern and could put in a quarter and play all day if I wanted.

I'm not a big fan of choppers but that is nice, actually i love the old 70's style choppers... i always wanted one for myself but could never afford to get one custom built, by the time i earned enough i wanted accelaration and corner speed instead :D

Back to games first... I love older game consoles and have a few emulators including SNES and PS1. I also have N64 and NES but don't seem to have them active. I also have emulators for my first two computer systems; Atari 400 and Atari ST.

Galaxian, Astroids, etc. are no problem. Look at M.A.M.E. ( Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator ). All the old stuff is there. The danged thing will do like 2000 arcade games.

All the game emulators I mentioned will work with a keyboard but it is a pain. Really need a game pad.

Between games and bikes. There was an arcade game called Hang On that was a motorcycle game/simulator that came out after Honda Hurricanes won first, second and fourth places in the road racing nationals. I loved it and could complete the entire thing at least 3 out of 4 times. As a simulation it had one major fault as it steered like a car which is the opposite of a bike; I assume that you know what counter steering is... The wheels act as gyroscopes which means that it is the lean of the bike that steers not the direction of the front wheel. Actually if you make a turn at any speed over say 30-35 MPH the front wheel is pointed in the opposite direction of the turn.

The Shadow was not a 'chopper'. As to acceleration, how about 0-60 in 2.3 seconds? ;) At the crank it put out 145 HP, that is higher than a Chevy 307 at 143 HP. The 307 was pushing a car. The higher HP Shadow was well under half the weight. The HP to weight ratio was off the wall. The thing was a beast! I didn't normally street race but a guy on a Ninja ticked me off; I took him. Never tapped the top end but did get clocked at 113 MPH and the cop let me go. He said I was just starting to get heavy into 4th gear and it had 6. Sort of a funny story if you want to hear...

The thing was greased lightning but also very comfortable. When I lived in Ft. Worth Texas I knew people in Cottonwood Arizona. I would sometimes go visit. It was ~1200 miles which I did in ~16 hours. I was still able to get off and walk when I got there.

As to not being a chopper here is another picture straight from the side. There is no front end rake which would be seen on a chopper. Neither image I put up are of my actual bike. They are just generic pictures of a Shadow. Actually this one is a 700 cc, not my 1100.
