I just more or less skimmed through the list but fast food is a very strange thing. I mean I read it all but was not in 'retain info' mode.
I recall reading years ago that, on average, a fast food milkshake actually contains more salt than an order of fries.
I don't really do fast food much, mayhaps once every two months I will have a craving for a Big Mac.
Sadly it isn't just fast food. I have worked in several restaurants and could give several horror stories. The worst that I worked was supposed to be the best at least according to menu prices. I was 15 when I worked at this place and helped close them down. The things that happened absolutely blew my mind. I saw a cook drop a steak on the floor when arranging things. He just left it there stepping on it several times. An order came in for that cut and he picked it up and threw it on the grill. I won't go in to extreme details about the guys that would stand up on a counter and relieve themselves in the big tall coffee and tea pots.
Oddly the two cleanest restaurants I worked were also the lowest priced. In 1972 I worked at a Ponderosa Steak House as a steak cook. Of course being a steak house they did baked potatoes. The taters were wrapped in foil. If a wrapped tater was dropped on the floor and you were caught putting it back on the tray there was no question; you would be fired on the spot. The other was a Ryan's where I worked as a hot bar and bakery cook. Every single night after we closed the kitchen floor and steak grill were pressure washed.
