Thank you Stephen and Jay, the years are speeding by too fast, I never thought I'd reach 79, just wish my body didn't feel as old.

Yes, the years do seem to speed by! I wonder who that old fellow in the mirror is. I hope you had a great birthday!

I know that feeling. At one point I was talking to a couple who had come to look over the bungalow at the back of me, it's the one that shares the drive with me. The old lady that lived there was moved back up north to be nearer her daughters so that she could be looked after, she's in her 90s and her mobility isn't good. Also my optician brought my new glasses round, I've always worn bifocals but had to use another pair to work on the computer and with the pandemic causing problems my test was over a year late and I couldn't wear the last pair for long as they were a bit too strong so used the pair I'd had before those. She asked if I'd ever tried varifocal as she thought they would suit me better, she was right, so far they are good, one pair and I can do everything with them, read, computer, watch TV, distance and just move around. I wish I'd tried them sooner.

I've been using the varifocal lenses for quite a few years and they are great. I'm a few years overdue for an exam and stronger prescription -- I guess it will be a bit later this year for new glasses.

I'm still getting used to them but I wish I'd been asked to try them before as they are so much better. One thing she did tell me though that I could have done without, I have cataracts developing so she will be keeping an eye on those.

We don't know where she's getting that number from, and I don't know that I want to live that long, but that is her prediction.

Don't worry about that Doddie, I wouldn't get out the door before I'd be struggling. Besides, the fields around me are grazing fields for livestock.
