Jay, you and I may be the only one using this program.

I am suddenly having a problem sending emails with a video attachment (avi or mp4). I send all of my animal videos as email attachments; normally these video files range in size from 6 to 9 MB. I have been doing this successfully since I installed em Client last March.

Starting today, when I try and send a video attachment the sending bar starts but then suddenly stops. I have no problem sending emails without attachments, and I can even send smaller 85 KB jpg photos.

I have submitted a trouble ticket to eM Client Support, but thus far no response. I was wondering if you are having similar problems, and I was hoping you could try sending me a video file of comparable size.

Thanks in advance..... :?

I sent you a 9.2MB video and saw no issue.

What is the size of the video that fails today?

I received your 9.2 MB video with no problem.....thank you.

I have tried several videos today in the range 5.3 MB to 8.5 MB. All failed.

Where should I look next? I have made no program changes to or within eM Client.

I would check with your ISP/Mail provider.

Didn't you have this issue initially with eM Client? If memory serves the best guess was a server timeout.

Thanks Steve....I plan on doing that tomorrow.

And Jay, yes I did have this problem initially, off/on over a two week period. And it just went away without eM Client Support or me doing anything. They asked me to send a copy of the Operations Log....the first time I tried to attach/send, it didn't go. The 2nd time the Log was successfully sent. But since I no longer had the problem, Support did not provide me with any reason or fix. So the fact that I had the problem before isn't helping me now. I don't remember anything about a server timeout.

Maybe if I sleep on it.....

I didn't mean that it was determined to be a server timeout. I meant that there was no actual cause decided but a server timeout was the general 'best guess'.

Just in case it might be a timeout have you tried sending at different times of the day? If it did happen to be a timeout issue if could be during a time period when the ISP servers are busy causing congestion which would slow things down. Not really any kind of accurate test but one way to see if this is possible would be to visit several web sites when the attachments are failing to see if it may seem that browser page loads seem slower. If so it would help point to ISP server congestion slowing things down which MAY cause a mail server timeout.

Keep in mind that, as with the initial issue, everything I have said is total guesswork with no solid backing. My only thought is that trends indicate that the last and first weeks of a month are the busiest for an ISP with people doing shopping and bill payments.

Jay, you may be absolutely correct about my problem being caused by ISP server congestion. Sometime during the early morning my problem went away, and I can now attach large video files to my email.

eM Client Support did respond to my ticket and they requested a copy of my Operations Log. I responded to their email and sent them a copy of the Log. I also bcc: you on that email to Support. Maybe my log will make sense to you, but it didn't to me. :cboy1:

If it is a timeout it actually happens on your system, not the server. This may be something lacking in eM Client. In Outlook, and I believer Live Mail, you can go to the account settings and increase the timeout setting. I have not been able to find this in eM Client. Since you are already talking with their support you may want to ask if there is such a setting hidden somewhere.
