Hello to all,
It's been a while. As of today I'm 3 weeks post R hip replacement surgery and things are advancing well.

My issue is on my upstairs PC running Windows 10 V20H2 OS Build: 19042.804. I use an AMD Radeon R9 200 Series GPU card. I have the latest software installed, V21.2.2. Every time I switch away from the PC to the TV, put the PC to sleep or log off and reboot I have to reset the HDMI scaling in the Radeon Software. I've searched online and read that I would have to roll back to V18.1.1 of the software to stop this. I don't really want to do this. I'm wondering if this is also a Windows 10 glitch. You would think that AMD would have fixed this by now. Is anyone else experiencing this issue. Thanks.

Do you have the "Adrenalin" (spelling) full software packaged installed? If not, do so as it will allow you to set and save scaling. At the same time it is also possible that you MAY need to roll back depending on the capabilities of your Radeon card. I am running the same version of the Radeon software as you with no issue but our physical video cards differ. I'm running an AMD Sapphire R9 380 series 4 GB Nitro. Your card is likely to be able to use the latest package but only to a limited extent.

Personally I'd drop back to Ver. 18.1.1 to see what happens. You stated you don't really want to do this but... is it better to reset the scale every time you change the video source? The most current update for a device driver is not always the best to use. If everything will work better with the software being an older version and there are issues with the newest software................. Sorry but, to me, it seems a no brainer. ;)

Yes I have the full software package. It has the slider for HDMI scaling. I was always under the impression that you want to have all software up to date and current because of security inside the newer version. Besides it's not a gaming feature. It scales the screen size to fit your monitor. the feature isn't a robust. Why shouldn't my VGA handle that?

Updates with AMD Adrenalin software very seldom deals with security issues. Almost all of the updates are performance related. There should be no danger in dropping back to version 18.x.x.

Initially I rolled back to V19.5.2. After uninstalling the AMD software I deleted all the AMD folders in Users>AppData, C>Programs Files and C>Program Data. Then I installed 19.5.2 and the scaling issue wasn't there. I waited a day and tried the same process while installing V21.2.2. It worked the same way. The HDMI Scaling maintains it's setting even after the video source to the monitor is changed and I return to the PC source. I have always been lazy and let AMD install the next update over the previously installed version. Lesson learned I will always download the update and do a clean install. Thanks for your input Jay.

Glad that you got the issue solved while still being able to use the latest drivers. I never thought of doing a clean install for the issue even though I always do clean. If you do the updates directly through the Radeon Software it will offer to do clean calling it Return to Factory or something like that. This option will also allow for keeping your settings.
