I do have a question to ask about the flash drive. Right now I have the flash drive with 256 GB in FAT32. I understand that NTFS is better than FAT32 but I am not 100 percent sure about this. If yes, then can I format the USB flash drive into NTFS from FAT32. Or don't format and just leave this alone like this. I thought that would be more safe to ask here first before I go further with my USB flash drive.

Your help would be appreciated.

Depends on for what you want to use the flash drive. NTFS is more efficient but not all devices can use it. What is your purpose?

I used to always format flash drives and memory cards to NTFS until I made a memory card useless in my camera. Now I usually just leave them alone. In normal usage the biggest disadvantage is that FAT32 can only handle a maximum file size of 4 GB which is not common.

Thank you Jay for your reply and the reason why I am asking here is about using NTFS or FAT32. All I want is my train simulator files for backup with Content and Assets. Content is the route files and Assets are the rolling stock with passenger or freight.

Since it will only be used on your computer you can go NTFS or leave it as is. Unless any of your backup files are over 4 GB there is really no need to go NTFS but should not hurt if you do.
