I need help about changing the location of downloads from one drive to the main drive (Windows 10 in C). Right now the path is below:
F:/Users/JP/Downloads
Here is my story below
Every time I download the files on the internet then extract the files or exe files in Winzip and pointed to F:/Users/JP/Downloads. I don't want to use F:/ drive anymore and want to have the main drive with C:/. My question is that how do I change the path for extract the files on desktop or in Downloads folder in C:/ drive. That was setup by my son who live outside Canada.
I already did make the changes but for some reason it didn't work correctly. More likely is my fault.
Your help would be appreciated to get the path or location change properly.
Thank you,
John

As dvair indicated we need to know the browser.
You can change system's default for this but it will really be controlled by your browser. In most cases you just need to use 'save as' instead of just 'save' and navigate to the desired folder. Doing this once will usually make the browser use the new location as the default. At least with Edge and Firefox you can also designate the default download folder in settings.

Here is my answer and have been using Microsoft Edge and the path for downloads is below:
C:\Users\John\Downloads
But not after extract the files in Winzip as the path is already setup where to install the files or exe. Maybe need to change the path in Winzip? I don't know and will wait to see what others have to say.
Thank you again,
John

In Edge click on the hamburger menu (three dots in the upper right) and select Settings. Scroll down to 'Downloads' and click 'Change' just below the 'choose where to save' and navigate to the desired folder. I use a folder on my data drive named 'Downloads'.
I haven't used Winzip in years but most such programs will default to the same folder as the file being unzipped is located. I know this is true for the Windows built in extraction app and 7-zip. If you haven't tried the built in app try right clicking on a .zip file and select to 'extract all'.

I have Z-Zip for rar files but decided to go ahead to use with zip files and rar files with 7-Zip. Already uninstalled Winzip out of my computer. Now everything is good with this.
Thank you,
John
