Try a program I use called Any Video Converter. https://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/ Don't know if it will make your files small enough. Your best bet as to size would be to convert to .WEBM format. You can also try zipping the file but that probably won't help a lot. |

Smitty, I frequently use the same program that Jay recommended (he recommended it to me a couple of years ago). I use it primarily to reduce AVI and MP4 video files, and it works great. For example, it will reduce a 60 MB AVI file to a little less than 7 MB. EDIT: With no noticeable loss in resolution. But I don't think email per se has a 10 MB limit, although your browser might. I try to keep my ongoing video files to 12 MB or less because of my slow DSL. However, I have received video files 19 MB in size. |

Here are the apparently current maximum email sizes by major providers. Keep in mind that your email provider is not the only factor. If your provider allows 25 MB but the recipient's provider only allows 20 MB, and the email is 22 MB, you will successfully send but it will not be received. AVC worked. The 44MB .mov was reduced to a 7 MB Mp4. It took about a minute to be sent and was received OK. Now I'm wondering how it would go by copying a video to my smart phone and sending it attached to a text message! |

Hey, Jay.......that's good info. Do you know what the attachment limit is for our eM Client? I know I will get a warning if I'm sending a video file exceeding about 11 MB, but if I click OK it will go ahead and send it. |

Attachment limits are set by your ISP/email provider, typically. I wouldn't think that the email program would have any limits. |

Some clients such as Microsoft Outlook do, in fact, have limits. If you look at my chart above it shows Microsoft Outlook client as having a limit of 20 MB per attachment while Mozilla Thunderbird has no limits. bbarry wrote: Hey, Jay.......that's good info. Splitting the file and sending each segment one at a time is an option but it's time consuming and requires third party software: Outlook Express of days gone by used to have this option built into it, i doubt any modern email clients still have this option though(?) a. The sender needs software in order to split the files. b. The recipient needs the same or similar software to recompile the files. c. Where an ISP imposes mailbox limits there is the potential that only one split file segment can be uploaded at a time, e.g. the next can't be uploaded until the previous is downloaded by the recipient. d. Repeat c. ad nauseam with no guarantee that at least one file file won't be corrupted. A far easier option would be don't use email at all, upload your file to Dropbox (or similar) and simply send the recipient a link so they can download the file using HTTP. cf. https://www.dropbox.com/basic |

Ah Jay, the good old days of NNTP/FTP etc... i never used Split It, mostly because i had nothing worth sharing. I still don't, hey-ho lol When files did grow to a size worth downloading... basically anything and everything, download managers like GetRight became a staple so i could resume the download when my ISP dropped the connection (which happened more often than i guess any of us want to remember)... GetRight is also still available but i can't help think that if you need it today you must be doing something wrong  ...and you now have to pay for it! ...http://www.getright.com/ Parity files were and still are a game changer... i guess if you're still trying to transfer files via email then much of that will fly over your head. FTP was a lot of fun... searching other peoples servers for stuff that i didn't know i didn't need was lots of fun.... for the most part the fun was building the trust to get access to their server to find out they had nothing i wanted! LOL Oh how times have changed! Now it's all about not letting anyone know what you have instead of sharing what you think might be useful for others
