I hope not but it doesn't look good, does it.

Only days after the layoffs, however, news leaked that Mozilla and Google have extended their current search deal for another three years. This new deal will ensure Google remains the default search engine provider inside the Firefox browser until 2023 for an estimated $400 million to $450 million per year.

Mozilla's long-term plan is to build its own revenue streams from subscription-based services and reduce its dependence on the Google search deal, which has historically accounted for between 75% and 95% of the organization's entire yearly budget as far back as 2006 when the two companies began collaborating (with a hiatus between 2014 and 2017, when Mozilla signed a similar agreement with Yahoo).

https://www.zdnet.com/article/sources-mozilla-extends-its-google-search-deal/I can't help wonder why any company would pay another company between 75 & 95% of their entire yearly budget on bundling any search engine when it isn't the default browser on an OS, in a day and age when most must surely know how to access a search engine by simply typing a few keys on a keyboard for their preferred search engine and saving it as their default, why does any search engine needed to be bundled at all?... that seems like an awful lot of money wasted?
