In my apartments there is nothing said as to a lease about having TV in the common room but it has been there due to an old maintenance guy supplying a wide screen TV that is actually his personal property. He got either a price he liked and sold or one of his daughters wanted. Whatever was the actual case it was his property to do with as he wished.

Oh what an uproar! It is our right to have this and all that which is totally off the wall and wrong. There was also an old CRT 37 inch TV there that was still available. I pulled things out and reconnected the CRT and everything works.

Sigh, I got one thank you and three people insisting that I need to give up one of my three HDTV units so they can watch wide screen. Entitlement issues are not just restricted to the young... To me this is so sad that I wish I had never brought TV back to the room. The rational is that I can't have any use for three screens so should be happy to donate one of mine. Of course neither one of my 32 inch screens would be acceptable. I should put in my 42 inch. Of course none of this is going to happen but it just amazes me that these people would even see that I should...

Entitlement issues are not just restricted to the young.....

That it truly bizarre that some people would think this way!

Actually I think one of the three was joking and sort of making fun of the other two that seemed totally serious. Not surprising is the fact that the two are the same as felt it was my responsibility to immediately fix their computers regardless of the hour or what I was doing.

Sounds like they both feel a bit entitled. :-(

Ya, that's why I ended my initial post with"Entitlement issues are not just restricted to the young.....". ;)

Too many people want you to do everything for them with them giving nothing in return. It is like a guy I knew before I left Ohio in 1987. I helped him put up a chain link fence at his house then helped him put up the same at his mother's place then put up a TV antenna on his mother's roof. When I was putting up a chain link fence at my house he was just too busy to be able to help. I'm basically pretty easy going but at some point one just needs to quit being used. To be honest I don't really blame these people; I blame myself for allowing it to happen. By allowing too much I'm just adding to their feeling of entitlement.
