I was not one that remembered the time change to set my clocks ahead an hour. ;) Rather funny how things change. Before I retired I NEVER missed a time change. Since I've retired time just does not seem so important.

It was actually sort of funny as the alarm clock in my bedroom adjusts itself and, of course, do my computers. I woke up and saw the time on my bedroom alarm clock then went to my living room. Looked at my wall clock and it was like 'wait a minute... this isn't right'. Went back to my bedroom and looked and it was an hour ahead of the living room wall clock. Looked at the clock on my main system and that is when it hit me.

May sound odd but I often enjoy the times when I get to laugh at myself. :) Of course there are time that I wish it didn't happen quite so often.

@ Joan: Do you folks across the pond also do a time change twice a year or is that just a stupidity involving this side of the pond?

I took care of the clocks before heading to bed last night, yes. :-) A major pain as we have a whole lot of clocks. I'll take care of the clock in my car tomorrow.
I'll answer for Joan -- in the UK the time change happens at the end of March (the 31st this year). The US moved up the change to DST a few years back.

The nonsense of changing clocks twice per year really needs to stop. The primary reason for doing it have been proven to be false (energy savings) and the impacts of the change are pretty dramatic. https://www.thisisinsider.com/daylight- ... cts-2018-3

I think that they should just change the time by half an hour to compromise and then just leave it alone. I didn't read your link but will. I don't know if it is included but I read ages ago that suicide rates increase after time changes.

Yes - mental health is one of the impacts. An increase in accidents and heart attacks are also noted. I had the same though on the half hour bit, but it really doesn't matter the solution. Just remain on standard time or switch to the DST reference point! :-)

I see Stephen answered for this side of the pond Jay, I agree with him about stopping it I just don't see the point of it anymore, it should have been stopped years ago.
