Went to renew my car registration Monday and had heard that they offer a military discount and indeed they do.
Last year my registration cost around $129.00. This year with the discount it cost $31.11. It only took about an extra 10 minutes to set up the discount.
Nice thing about a small town. Even with setting up the discount I was in and out in probably less than 20 minutes and they apologized for the delay.
The discount is actually a property tax exemption that can be used once a year by active and ex military. If I owned a house I could opt to pay full price for the car registration and be exempt on the property tax on the house. That could be a major savings! Still I'm just fine with the car registration and not having to do yard work.
