A month and a half ago My Cleveland Indians were 11.5 games out of first place. As of tonight they are in first place. You still around Chas? What do you think?

I hope that the medical isn't serious. Yep, could be an interesting stretch run in baseball.

Hi Chas - Although I'm not the big baseball fan like you and Jay, it was good to see you posting. I hope you are winning with the medical issues, as we all missed your sage advice. Take care and stay in touch.

MAN!!! What a 4 game series between the Tribe and Twins!!! Tribe took 3 out of 4 to now be tied with the Twins for first place. The tribe could have easily lost it in the bottom of the ninth inning but two perfect throws ended up with the Twins winning run being an out at home plate. Top of the tenth inning a grand slam by the Tribe's first baseman, Santana, made it a 7-3 Tribe win.

Yes it was a big game/series. Twins have the easier schedule for the rest of the year though. Shoot, they have a 13 game stretch coming up where they play only the Tigers and White Sox...
Twins and Indians seem to be very evenly matched. The season series is 7-6 in favor of the Tribe.
Your Yankees are having a great year!

Yanks are playing great with a bunch of backup and bench players. Should not be where they are. But..... I'm loving it.

Tribe went through the same thing with Lindor and Kipnis missing the first month and Kluber being out all season so far. Salazar is supposed to be back but, with throwing an 87 MPH fastball, is still not ready. Then there is Brantly who hasn't played.

Ouch on your Yankees, Chas! Who would have expected a couple of things in this game...
1) First grand slam for Jose Ramirez. That really surprised me. With the way he hits I would have just assumed he had previous grand slams.
2) The offense put out by the Tribe in the early game. The Tribe just blew it out of the park!
I don't know what to say on this game. I just would not expect the Yanks to give up 19 runs...

Danged Yankees are bums! They have their division locked up. They could have let the Tribe sweep to help out...

Sigh, now I have to hope for a win over Sabathia for a series split. Still, how many teams can claim to be tied with the Yankees at 6-6 for the season? I wonder how Sabathia will do being his first game back off the injured list. Actually, with the career he's had, I sort of find it a bit sad that this is his last season. Part of that is probably his coming up with the Tribe. Now for the second game of the day, Browns vs Colts. Love baseball but football is my number one.

I hope to see CC get in at least 5 innings with the Yanks up. I see the Browns are up 21-7 They're are going to be a good team

While I watch I don't put much importance in the NFL preseason as to results in the real season. Shoot, two years ago the Browns went 0-16 yet were either 3-1 or 4-0 in the preseason. Preseason game three where the starters tend to play the first half is the only game that even gives an idea.
The Browns now have a ton of talent but that does not always make a team.
LOL! I was going to correct you as to the Browns being ahead 21-7 against the colts but the Browns just scored to make your score correct. I sort of forgot that I had the Browns game paused to watch the end of the Tribe game so I'm about 15 minutes behind on the Browns game.

While I'm glad that the Tribe won Sunday's game I sort of wish Sabathia had a better outing. Since it is the last time he will face the tribe unless it is a playoff game; I would have liked him to look better. Would still want him to lose but look better doing so. Hey, I would have liked to win this 4 game series against the Yanks but I got what I hoped when the series started, a split. They don't play again in the regular season which means that the Tribe won the season series 7-6. Not a lot of teams can say that. LOL! Who would figure that the Tribe would outscore the Yanks something like 36 to 15 in a 4 game series and only split? I can't remember but figure it is New York. Who is your NFL team; I guess either Giants or Jets. My Browns play the Jets this year but not the Giants.

Coming off the IL I hoped CC pitched better. Considering how the series started, I'll take the split. I watch the Giants, Jets And Pats. My cable carries all three. Favorites in that order

(snicker, snicker) If you follow the Jets you are probably not fond of Bernie Kosar and the 1986 Browns defense in a double overtime division playoff game. Actually you were also probably not a fan of Baker Mayfield in week three of the 2018 season. Actually Paul Rochester was a computer client of mine when I had my business in Florida. He was a defensive tackle on the Jets Super Bowl III team. Another client was Dexter Carter of the 1990's 49ers and Jets. Dexter had the ugliest knees I think I've ever seen from the physical abuse. Both guys are a couple of the nicest people I've ever met. Super Bowl rings are insane, huge and heavy.

Oh yeah I remember the Kosar game. Paul Rochester Don't remember him like i do other members of the that team. Carter is familiar. My all time favorite QB. Joe Willie Namath I was an young AFL guy

While I have always liked Brian Sipe and Bernie Kosar I'd have to say that the top all time Browns QB has to be Otto Grahm. What can you say about 10 years played, 10 championship games played and 7 championships won?
I'm sad to say that the Tribe's season is probably over. While they are likely to still get a wildcard position they just won't be able to compete with the Twins or Yankees as to offense with losing Naquin and Ramirez for the rest of the season. Of course Ramirez is the bigger loss but both hurt. It also looks like Kluber isn't likely to be able to come back this year.

Otto Graham was a great player no doubt. He coached here in Ct. at the Coast Guard Academy.
Much to early to give up on the Tribe. All it takes is for a team to get hot at the right time.

I'm not really counting out the Tribe and expect them to make the playoffs. I just have doubts as their any longer being able to offensively stand up to The Twins and Yankees although, I believe, the Tribe has a winning record against both clubs this year.
