Thanks for that chasbox. I want a new pc this year and Apple is tempting except I think Apple is now almost just as pathetic as MS. What is a person to do if they want to purchase a product from an outfit that will not force things down your throat? Money talks and those CEOs want to keep their millions.

P.S. Yes, Yes, I know about reading the fine print legal stuff before we install anything but the fact is, they know very few of us will understand any word and I bet even the IR people at those companies don't understand the legal jargon that they are sending out to us.

I don't know what Windows 10 is being discussed but I have never seen the described behaviour with my 2 Win 10 Pro installs. Yes, on my laptop, it will automatically install Updates but has never re-started without my giving the OK. My Desktop is set to notify only so does not even download Updates without permission.

Well any business person not using win 10 Pro is foolish. At least there you specify update outside certain hours. But I must admit this update issue is helping keep me on Win 7

Really, is that how it works? I could maybe once again owe MS an apology.

But even if so, why make it so difficult, like the Windows Defender confusion, or hiding the Windows image backup?

That is not the default Acadia but rather a Registry tweak made simple with the Winaero Tweaker I have mentioned several times in other threads.

If any look at this be careful to get the right download link. It is below the screenshot.

The following is off topic but in reply to the last post by Acadia.

I DO seem to remember discussion about Defender but can't recall what the confusion was about. Was it that it was just anti malware in Win 7 but also AV in Win 8/8.1 and 10? I have always considered that just an evolution of the program just like MBAM is evolving to also include AV aspects.

What I really don't get is the claim that Image Backups are hidden as they are on the main Control Panel window if in Icon Mode. Even in Category mode it is in plain view under System and Security.

No worries my friend. :) It just seems to me that too many are trying to find issues rather than just looking at the options they have. Personnally I just do not have the time to find all the faults. I would rather spend my time finding the solution...

There is no such thing as a problem. There are only unfound solutions.

Hopefully stuff isn't evolving like MBAM. That evolution is going badly. And the spin doctors are going full court.

Peter, would you be interested in starting a thread on MBAM to go into this further? I am using 3.0 and am very interested. Just got a new program update today and it went very smoothly, unlike the last one.

Thanks.
