I thought I posted this query a few days ago but could not find it so I will repost. I am looking for a good e-mail client with similarities to the old Outlook Express. I have tried Thunderbird (on the recommendation of my ISP) but could not get it to install properly. My main client right now is Windows Live Mail which I do not like. Upon the recommendation of my ISP I installed Thunderbird but had a difficult getting it setup properly. At present, Windows Mail only seems to show a few of my messages (compared with what my ISP shows as present. My wife and I have both had problems recently. I with my Windows Live Mail and my wife with her I-Pad.
Just looking for any comments and/or suggestions.

Microsoft Office Outlook remains the best email client around.

I've only ever used outlook i'm afraid. Although I did much prefer outlook express over windows live messenger.
I again have used thunderbird before, but outlook is by far the best software i've used for email.
I know there are other free alternatives out there but each has it's own problems. e.g it might be simply to use but IMAP functionality is limited/non-secure.

You always (used to) be able to download a 30/60 day trial of office (which includes outlook).
You may even be able to download a trial of outlook. If you've not used it before it might be worth giving it a try before you make a decision.

Price puts me of using Outlook I always thought it came bundled with the full version of Office and I've only got the Home & Student versions of Office.
I'm using Windows Live Mail, the latest version, just because at the time I could read Newsgroups in it but I think that's not so important now as it used to be.

May still be too pricey, but just so you know... If you go with an Office 365 subscription, that costs $100/year, and it includes all of Home & Student programs + Outlook + Publisher + Access - and you always have the most recent program.

That's interesting to know Patty but still too much for me especially as I don't need the other parts of Office. That's one of the reasons for sticky with Home & Student as that has all I need from Office namely Word, Excel and OneNote, it would have been nice if that had included Outlook instead of PowerPoint for me, but that's just me wishful thinking.
