Following an update this week, Outlook 2010 is opening in Safe Mode.

How to uninstall this updateWindows 101.Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.11.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP1.Go to Start, enter Run, and then select Run.

a.Select View installed updates.
b.In the list of updates, locate and select update KB3114409, and then select Uninstall.

Another workaround involves registry editing (I don't suggest this option, though):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security\
1. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
2. Type DisableSafeMode, and then press Enter.
3. In the Details pane, right-click DisableSafeMode, and then click Modify.
4. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
