If I go to my MS account I see the following about Office 365 Home installs...
Quote:
PC/Mac installs used:1
Install Office on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.

What exactly does this mean? The way it reads seems to indicate that I can install on a total of 5 Windows or Apple systems. Also I could install 5 tablets and 5 phones. This SEEMS to indicate that there are a total of 15 possible installs.

Can anyone clarify this?

I'm not sure Jay, when I got mine I took it to mean a total of 5 installs.

No, Joan. It's not the number of times you install it. It's how many machines you have it on.

I believe that in certain instances, Office is a free installation. For instance, the Surface RT comes with Office RT - that doesn't count on my number of installations. Office on my Lumia phone is free, it doesn't count on my installations. I shared it with my daughter on her computer, that counted as an installation, as does the installation on my computer. If I had a laptop, that would count as an installation. I don't have a simple yes or no answer for you, I can only tell you what counts on my account.

It was just a curiosity question anyway and thanks for the input. :)

The part that mane me wonder was the 'and' in '... 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.'.

I isn't really a factor for me as I have just 4 total possible installs. I have my laptop with Win 7 and 10 and my desktop with Win 7. I DO have an Android tablet but doubt that I'll install as it is used mostly as a reader. Oh, I do have a drive with Win 8.1 that I can connect if I need/want so I guess that makes 5 possible installs, still within the initial 5 installs that I figured.
